Easton

Easton
Easton is the cutest little boy we know! He rightfully earned the nickname 'BEASTY' when he was a baby and it has stuck with him. He is such a sweet little mommy's boy and we are ALL at his Beck and call. Easton loves cars, snacks, and playing outside. He is talking up a storm and it seems like he learns something new every single day. He is at such a fun age. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy!

Ainslee

Ainslee
Ainslee is the baby and she just turned ONE!! This child is a handful!!! She hasn't quite grown out of the difficult phase.....that she has been in since she was born, but we still find ways to find her sweet side! Hearing her baby giggles and watching her discover & learn new things make all the whininess......just a little easier to deal with. Aaaahhh, we love this Ainslee Girl!!

Avery

Avery
Oh our cute little Avery! With her blue eyes & blonde hair, she is one of the cutest 4 year olds around!! This girl is stubborn! She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is quite unpredictable, which makes for a lot of laughs! Avery is our TREAT-FREAK! We can always guess what is on her mind. My favorite thing about Avery is her smiles. She always has one for us no matter what and that makes everyones day just a little better. She attends preschool and says she doesn't like it, but secretly we know she does ;). We are so lucky to have this cute girl in our family! We can't get enough of her.

Kobe Dylan

Kobe Dylan
Kobe is our first child, born in 2004. He was 4 months early and weighed a whopping 1 lb. 4 oz.! We got to be with Kobe for 4 wonderful weeks. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to raise one of God's perfect children. We love him and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is part of our family. We have a treasure in heaven.

Quinnie just turned 6! She is growing faster than we can keep up with! She loves going to first grade and is doing really well! She picks up on things very quickly and LOVES learning. She's seriously a sponge. Her favorite thing to do is write notes and draw pictures for her friends & family. You should see our continual stack of papers. Quinnlyn is creative & spunky & totally independant. We love her like crazy!

Where we are....

What is going on with the Joneses?

Brett-

He finished his 3rd year of Dental school on June 16th. We are officially on the count down & it is hard to believe. He works with patients everyday now, & will begin a one-week externship in St. George, working in his Cousin. Unfortunately, the rest of us don’t get to go with him….unless someone can loan us a thousand bucks (just shoot me an email). '

He is still serving as Young Men’s president & I’m sure he will hold that calling until we move.

Kim-

…..I feel so boring…..I have nothing to say about myself. I bathe the kids, feed the kids, entertain the kids, check my email, write product reviews, feed the kids (and the husband), and sleep. Don’t worry, it isn’t as bad as it sounds. In fact, I feel pretty lucky that I get to lounge around playing outside with the kids instead of sitting in an office. I really do have the best ‘job’. I was released from my primary calling a few months ago & now I teach Relief Society….and so far I really enjoy it.

Quinnlyn-

Is looking forward to 1st grade (and so am I!!). Her & Avery play together all day….and they also fight together all day. They spend most of their time outside. Remember those days where you wore your swimsuit more than actual clothes? Well they are living those days. I love watching them make fun summer memories.

Quinnie is starting to get bugged by things Avery does or says (even though it’s not really bothering her physically). She is often saying “AVERY!! That is bugging me….you’re bugging me, you’re bugging me, you’re bugging me”. I love being a referee. She LOVES Beasty & is always playing with him.

AVERY-

Still the treat queen. Lies through her teeth. Unconsciously sucks her thumb at night (luckily she has no desire to do it during the day). Is patiently waiting for her hair to grow longer. Teases Quinnlyn mercilessly. Still has to be forced to wear something other than dresses/skirts. Takes an afternoon nap. WHINER.

EASTON-

Still a fantastic sleeper. Loves his blanket & always looks for the corner to rub on his face. Takes a binky at night…..and sometimes during the day (I know. I know. But sometimes it’s more for me than him). Is my PICKIEST eater. Still weighs 20 pounds (because he is a picky eater). Is getting taller. Hair is getting blonder….and of course, longer. Loves dancing to loud music. Says ‘Hi’ to everyone. Finally gives kisses. Rarely gives hugs. Knows that shoes means we are going ‘bye-bye’. LOVES animals & follows the neighborhood cats around. Loves being outside. Gets a lot of attention from the rest of us. Drinks Lactose-free milk. Had 2 fevers in 2 weeks….one because of Strep throat, the other unkown. ‘Talks’ (it sounds like ‘Gobbling’) more than any baby I have know…..and seems to know exactly what he is saying. Ends most of his ‘sentences’ (gobbling) with ‘Huh?’. Fake cries all the time. Loves playing with cars. Loves pushing things….like the grocery cart or stroller.

New words he says-

  • Pinata
  • Cookie (Koo-Kee)
  • Hot
  • Freezing
  • Outside (side)
  • Pop

And that is that!!

Avery @ FOUR

Avery4-4

Avery is still the craziest girl around! She has a spunky, determined, sassy little attitude that adds a lot of drama to our family…..but we wouldn’t change her!! Here are a few things about her:

-She thinks she doesn’t have to listen to anything we say (and she has no fear about disobeying)

-She gets so bored the minute Quinnlyn leaves for school

-STILL loves her treats & snacks (this will never change)

-She is scared of the dark, thunder, & lightening

-She likes dressing her stuffed animals in her pajamas

-She wants her hair to be LONG & asks me everyday “Is it long yet?'”

-She REFUSES to wear anything but dresses & skirts. She probably wore pants about 5 times the whole fall/winter season

Avery4-8Avery4-14Avery4-13

-Won’t wear tennis shoes or boots either

-Can’t say her ‘R’s’

-Teases Quinnlyn all the time

-Is usually a pretty good helper; getting p.j’s for Easton almost every night, Emptying the silverware in the dishwasher, putting a bag in the garbage can…..BUT she really hates cleaning her room!!!!

-Is a morning person usually waking up around 7 am

-Still takes an afternoon nap

-Weighs 32 pounds ( 20%), is 40 inches tall (55%) and overall is in the 12th% percentile

-Is pretty shy around most people until she gets to know them

It's that time....

I haven't done a Full Family update for a bit, so here is one for any of you who care.

BRETT:
Started working in the clinics this summer. It's a lot less boring, but a little more nerve wracking I would think. They kind of just throw the 3rd years into doing procedures on actual patients....or so it seems to me. But Brett has done well. I went in a few weeks ago and got a cleaning from him. Cleanings are pretty simple, but he did a great job. It was fun to see him in the clinics----wearing his gown, gloves, mask, & glasses. I have my very own Dr. Jones. I wish I would've gotten a picture of him!!! He still has classes this year but I think he is in clinics at least half the time.
He's still the Young Men's president which keeps him busy on Sundays with meetings, and Wednesdays with mutual. *SIGH* That's all I am saying.

ME:
I'm just trying to keep up with life. I had a birthday and I am now 25. Getting older is not fun. I definitely see myself aging when I look in the mirror. BUT, I have recently gotten a few comments about people thinking I am still a teenager so it offsets the pain a bit. The kids are keeping me busy, but I like to be busy. It sure beats sitting around waiting for something to do!!!
I got a new camera for my birthday & I am excited to get it & put it to good use.

QUINNLYN:
You already know she started school last week. She has a lot of fun. Unfortunately, she came down with pneumonia a few days & so she missed a few days until she was completely better. The sickness came on so quickly and I thought it was STREP, but nope....we got pneumonia. Luckily she wasn't really too miserable. A cough, low-grade fever for a day, stomach pain for a bit today & some throwing up. Sounds like a lot, but she's actually acted fairly normal.
She is a great help with Easton. She even loves to change his diaper. And Easton really loves her, as well as Avery. He gets the biggest smile when he sees them. He definitely knows who his sisters are and it is so sweet.

AVERY:
This child is a big ball of ENERGY....which is good and bad. She never quits. She is such a little whiner and she throws a fit over every little thing that doesn't go her way. And she is still crazy about TREATS!!!! I think it gets worse & worse. Lately we have been waking up earlier so we can get Quinnlyn to school. That means Avery eats breakfast at about 8:00 & by 9:00 she is BEGGING to have a treat....or lunch. I know exactly what she wants even before she asks. She makes us laugh though.
She is very interested in school now that Quinnlyn is in kindergarten. I even had to buy her the same tinkerbell notebook and she brought it with her (along with her little backpack) when we took Quinnlyn to her first day of class.

EASTON:
I will do a full update in him in about a week since he will be turning 4 months...but for now I will just say: He is sleeping much better, we have him on an 'almost' schedule, and he gives us the SWEETEST smiles ever. And all of this couldn't have come any sooner. WHEW!!!!! I was starting to wonder if I would ever be able to keep up with this child.

We have been enjoying the summer. Not so much the 95 degree weather with terrible humidity that makes it worse than anything you feel in Utah, but hot is better than cold in my book. We were able to go to both the county fair, and the state fair where we got to try the deep fried oreos & cookie dough---(we passed on the hamburger that had krispy kreme doughnuts for buns & also the deep fried pepsi, snickers, reeses and even BUTTER....yes I said deep fried butter).

We can't believe we are beginning our third year here in Indiana. Time has gone by very quickly.

And that is us.

Life

Easter was fun. We went to a church down the road from us to hunt Easter eggs on Saturday. I didn't feel like carrying the camera around with me....I'm lazy like that sometimes. The girls also got a bucket filled with fun stuff from the Easter Bunny. They got side walk chalk, bubbles, water balloons, sun glasses, an outfit and shoes, and some candy (as if they needed anymore candy).
THE GIRLS GOT AN EASTER PACKAGE FROM GRANDMA & GRANDPA HANNIG.

Easter morning we woke up to another 'mini' egg hunt in our backyard. More candy....unnecessary. The rest of the day was spent watching conference and just hanging out together. Nothing special, but kind of nice to just relax with no where to go.

COLORING EGGS

SPRING IS HERE.....well it was. My daffodils and tulips came up, we spent several days playing outside riding bikes and going for walks. That 70-80 degree weather felt great. It was teasing us.

Today we are back in the 50's. The past 2 nights we have had tornado warnings and severe thunderstorm warnings. STUPID INDIANA WEATHER. I will never stop expressing my hate for it. Luckily we haven't actually had to get into our tornado closet (but I did clean it out just in case).

Brett is getting through school. He has been staying later than I am use to. These days he gets home around 5:30. I don't like it....but I am dealing with it. I think I might have it better than some of the other dental wives, so I try not to complain. The warm weather was helping for a while, because we kept ourselves busy.

Quinnlyn is officially signed up for Kindergarten. She's excited, I am excited, we are just excited ;). Too bad it doesn't start for a couple more months.

Avery is almost 3.....meaning 'TERRRIBLE 3's' (I think they should change it from terrible 2's). She whines, she cries, she pouts and throws tantrums. I'll bet she will go crazy on us once the baby comes.....WATCH OUT!

I'm mixed up with a bunch of emotions.

GRATEFUL: That I made it this far
SURPRISED: That I made it this far.....
FRUSTRATED: That I have been off bedrest for 5 weeks and I am still pregnant
CURIOUS: To know if I REALLY needed all that bedrest
TIRED: Of being fat and pregnant
GLAD: That I am still pregnant because it means my life is normal for another day
NERVOUS: To have a boy.....so nervous. I'm still not quite comfortable with it.
SCARED: That I may have to be induced....and I will before I go past my due date
TERRIFIED: Of labor and delivery. You'd think after 3 times, I would be okay, but the fear gets bigger and bigger with each one.
HUNGRY: No explanation needed
SATISFIED: That we are ready (as ready as we will get) for this baby....as far as having the stuff we need
EXCITED: To meet him
SAD: To not feel him kicking and moving in my belly once he is born

There is a lot going through my mind....most of the time at night.....when I should be sleeping....but I can't.....so I just lay awake. I'm pretty sure I get about 3 hours of QUALITY sleep each night.

I have a doctors appointment this afternoon. I'm sure I will be back here complaining about NO PROGRESS. Stay tuned.
