Sorry for the outdated blog, but to make up for it, here is a long post of what we've been up to. We have been enjoying a visit from 'home'. Brett's parents drove our new car to Florida and visited his sister Bethany and then they (Brett's parents, sister, and her 2 girls) drove up here to Indiana. They arrived on Wednesday evening with food storage, pumpkins for the girls, and best of all...themselves!!! It was so nice to have them stay with us! I have only 'hosted' visitors twice, and I kind of enjoy it. Of course the best part was just visiting with them, but we did go on a few fun outings.
We went to the Children's Museum (it's suppose to be the best) and had fun watching the kids play, ride the carousel, and paint pumpkins.
Quinnlyn and Kennedy (her cousin) had a lot of fun together. They've never really had a chance to play together so this was great for them! They got to stay up late and have sleepovers with Grandma & Grandpa (what good sports G&G are!!!) They were so silly together and it was so cute to hear their giggling (the cutest little girl giggles that you've ever heard). Of course there was some arguing also....but that is to be expected!
Avery enjoyed the visit....from a distance (close to mom or dad). When G & G or Bethany spoke to her she would try to hide her face....nothing personal...just a little shy.
We also went to a pumpkinfest that is just down the road from our house. There were corn mazes, a hay maze, a bounce house & slides, and hay rides to the pumpkin patch. The kids had fun.
Avery and Grandpa Jones making there way through the corn maze.
Brett and I raced to the top of the 'hay mountain'....I lost.
G & G and the grandkids (minus baby kaitlyn)...see what I mean? Good sports.
Yes, I couldn't resist the big blow-up slide
Taking a hayride to the Pumpkin Patch
Avery found her pumpkin, but couldn't quite pick it up
And Quinnie found hers too...treated it like a baby
And now our visit from home has come to an end. Bethany and her kids flew home Saturday morning, and the girls and I took Brett's parents to the airport this afternoon. Yes, I got a little teary-eyed but that will happen everytime I say good-bye. I'm sad to have them gone...I'm hoping the 'good-bye' depression won't kick in this time but we'll see.
So to Bethany, Kennedy, & Kaitlyn: Thanks for driving 12 hours to come and visit us. We had a lot of fun with you guys!
And to Brett's parents: Thank you for going out of your way (waaaayyyy out of your way) to bring us our car...we enjoy it very much, but we enjoyed seeing you much more.
UNTIL DECEMBER....GOOD-BYE.
-By the way, I do love my new car....I'll possibly post some pictures if I get around to it.
