Easton

Easton
Easton is the cutest little boy we know! He rightfully earned the nickname 'BEASTY' when he was a baby and it has stuck with him. He is such a sweet little mommy's boy and we are ALL at his Beck and call. Easton loves cars, snacks, and playing outside. He is talking up a storm and it seems like he learns something new every single day. He is at such a fun age. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy!

Ainslee

Ainslee
Ainslee is the baby and she just turned ONE!! This child is a handful!!! She hasn't quite grown out of the difficult phase.....that she has been in since she was born, but we still find ways to find her sweet side! Hearing her baby giggles and watching her discover & learn new things make all the whininess......just a little easier to deal with. Aaaahhh, we love this Ainslee Girl!!

Avery

Avery
Oh our cute little Avery! With her blue eyes & blonde hair, she is one of the cutest 4 year olds around!! This girl is stubborn! She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is quite unpredictable, which makes for a lot of laughs! Avery is our TREAT-FREAK! We can always guess what is on her mind. My favorite thing about Avery is her smiles. She always has one for us no matter what and that makes everyones day just a little better. She attends preschool and says she doesn't like it, but secretly we know she does ;). We are so lucky to have this cute girl in our family! We can't get enough of her.

Kobe Dylan

Kobe Dylan
Kobe is our first child, born in 2004. He was 4 months early and weighed a whopping 1 lb. 4 oz.! We got to be with Kobe for 4 wonderful weeks. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to raise one of God's perfect children. We love him and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is part of our family. We have a treasure in heaven.

Quinnlyn

Quinnlyn
Quinnie just turned 6! She is growing faster than we can keep up with! She loves going to first grade and is doing really well! She picks up on things very quickly and LOVES learning. She's seriously a sponge. Her favorite thing to do is write notes and draw pictures for her friends & family. You should see our continual stack of papers. Quinnlyn is creative & spunky & totally independant. We love her like crazy!

Here are a few things for you.....

ONE-
Quinnlyn is riding her bike without TRAINING WHEELS!

Her & Brett went out one day to try and then Brett hurt his back so he wasn't able to help her for a while. During that time, she would pray at meal time & she would say "Please bless Daddy's back to FEEL BETTER so he can run....and help me ride my bike". Well, the prayers helped and once his back felt better, Brett took her out again & after a few minutes, she was riding BY HERSELF. Now we go for walks & she rides. It's fun to see her accomplish something so HUGE. We are pretty PROUD of her! (And seeing this picture, it's looking like she will need a bigger bike VERY soon)

TWO-
I got a JOB.

Well, if you want to call it a job. On Mondays & Tuesdays I drive 2 minutes down the road & assist with a couple of gymnastics classes. 2 nights a week for 2 hours a night is hardly a job, but it is just enough for me. Anything more would make me MISERABLE for a couple of reasons. The GREAT THING about this 'job' is that Brett can be home with the kids while I am gone. It's pretty much perfect. A nice break for me, I am home before the kids go to bed, & we make a little MONEY from it.

THREE-
Quinnlyn is attending gymnastics.

Because I assist with gymnastics, we get HALF OFF on classes for Quinnlyn (Avery is too young). I know I am a DANCER, & most of you would have expected me to put her in a DANCE CLASS, but I've never been a big fan of young dance classes because I've always hated the idea of paying someone to teach my kid a dorky dance (although I know young kids can't do much else). So ANYWAY, Quinnlyn LOVES it!! And she is doing well too. We moved her up to the OLDER CLASS cuz she catches on so quickly. She has BEAUTIFUL form too!

FOUR-
We are done with DIAPERS!!!

Yes, Avery is wearing underwear at NIGHT. She is completely POTTY TRAINED. We've been CHANGING diapers for 4 years, & now we get a break. YIPEE!!! Of course, we have a few accidents at times, but nothing I can't deal with.

FIVE-
I got a new CALLING.

I am the Primary SECRETARY. I'm kind of glad for the break from teaching...as I have pretty much been doing that since Brett & I have been married. Except I haven't been released from teaching so right now I kind of have 2 callings.

SIX-
Avery is a THUMB-SUCKER.

We thought we could get her out of the habit, but so far she is NOT cooperating. Normally, a dentist would say not to WORRY about it until she is about 4, but it is already affecting her TEETH. Brett is not HAPPY about it (nor am I...but I'm a little less frantic about it). In fact, he is so against it, that he has decided to DUCT TAPE her hands (as you can see in the picture). But, she rarely leaves it on. Last night he even taped her ARMS to her SIDE. As you can IMAGINE, she was not happy about it, & when I saw what he was doing, I wasn't HAPPY either....I made him 'UNTIE' her.

And since I am already here, I will throw in a picture of Brett & the girls on Father's day. We got him a new hat, some clothes, & some concert tickets to some band (I don't follow Brett's music). I made him a Father's Day dinner of Ribs & later we had ice cream cake just because he likes it....and so do we.

And to end on a funny note (well atleast I think it is pretty funny). Avery has a pretty big imagination these days. It surprised me at first, because Quinnlyn didn't really get this way until she turned about 3, but I guess Avery has gotten it from Quinnie. Anyway, Quinnlyn was sitting on the ground playing and Avery came & sat down next to her. Quinnlyn got bugged & said: "AVERY! You can't sit here, my friends are sitting here." (Of course these are imaginary friends so how was Avery to know they were there). So Avery looks around & says "I'm taking your friends" and she proceeds to 'pick up' all of Quinnlyn's buddies. There must have been 5 or 6 of them and she picked them all up. Quinnlyn get's frustrated & says: "My friends are NOT that small!".

So later that day, Brett was teasing Avery, & he said: "Avery, I am taking all of your friends" (and then he starts picking them up). Avery got mad & came over to me & said "I need my friends mom", while she holds out her hand. So I pretended to give her a friend and she says: "And another one." So I handed her another one, & then she says: "And a bottle for the baby." So of course I handed her a pretend bottle for her baby. And then of course, she is content. Sometimes I don't know when she want something for real, or when she is just wanting me to pretend with her. It's usually trial & error for us.

And one more thing. At random times she will see people & yell "HI FRIENDS!". FYI: Brett & I have never said that.

It's pretty funny to see what new things she comes up with.

We like the duct tape story and the imaginary friends thing. I'm glad you made Brett untie her, that's taking it a bit too far!

Haley was so excited to see Quinnlyn today. It really made her want to go out and try to ride her bike without the training wheels. Of course then I felt bad because I can really run after her and help her out. So she will either have to wait for Andrew to be able to help, or wait until after the baby. :) Can't wait to see you guys on Saturday!!!

I love this post. Kaylee who is 3 1/2 is still sucking her thumb as well and my husband hates it. He tries to tape socks to her hands at night but I feel bad because I just had a baby and she needs a little extra comfort. I figure she will have braces anyway so why not let her suck away. She will figure it out when she's like 8 or 9. Ha ha.

Isn't it so fun to have two girls close in age!? My 4 year old Breckyn will not give up thumb sucking either and it stresses me out. And she's past the age where we should worry. Maybe I'll try duct tape haha! Your girls are sure cute and you are a cute mom too!!
