Easton

Easton
Easton is the cutest little boy we know! He rightfully earned the nickname 'BEASTY' when he was a baby and it has stuck with him. He is such a sweet little mommy's boy and we are ALL at his Beck and call. Easton loves cars, snacks, and playing outside. He is talking up a storm and it seems like he learns something new every single day. He is at such a fun age. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy!

Ainslee

Ainslee
Ainslee is the baby and she just turned ONE!! This child is a handful!!! She hasn't quite grown out of the difficult phase.....that she has been in since she was born, but we still find ways to find her sweet side! Hearing her baby giggles and watching her discover & learn new things make all the whininess......just a little easier to deal with. Aaaahhh, we love this Ainslee Girl!!

Avery

Avery
Oh our cute little Avery! With her blue eyes & blonde hair, she is one of the cutest 4 year olds around!! This girl is stubborn! She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is quite unpredictable, which makes for a lot of laughs! Avery is our TREAT-FREAK! We can always guess what is on her mind. My favorite thing about Avery is her smiles. She always has one for us no matter what and that makes everyones day just a little better. She attends preschool and says she doesn't like it, but secretly we know she does ;). We are so lucky to have this cute girl in our family! We can't get enough of her.

Kobe Dylan

Kobe Dylan
Kobe is our first child, born in 2004. He was 4 months early and weighed a whopping 1 lb. 4 oz.! We got to be with Kobe for 4 wonderful weeks. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to raise one of God's perfect children. We love him and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is part of our family. We have a treasure in heaven.

Quinnlyn

Quinnlyn
Quinnie just turned 6! She is growing faster than we can keep up with! She loves going to first grade and is doing really well! She picks up on things very quickly and LOVES learning. She's seriously a sponge. Her favorite thing to do is write notes and draw pictures for her friends & family. You should see our continual stack of papers. Quinnlyn is creative & spunky & totally independant. We love her like crazy!

I Know, I Know.....

I use to be a good blogger. I was pretty good about posting quite often....but things have changed I guess. I am a slacker. Or maybe I just don't have a whole lot to write about these days. Regardless, I am pretty sure I am a better blogger than everybody else I know.....who RARELY post, & when they do it is TINY!!!! (But I am not pointing any fingers).

Anyway, let's see if I can make an interesting post out of nothing:

I'll begin with the Indiana BIPOLAR weather. It has become one of my biggest pet peeves. It rains every other day & I when it doesn't rain, it still isn't swimming/summer weather. We rarely need our air conditioner because we just have the windows open all day (which is not a bad thing money wise). I know what you are thinking (especially all you utahn's who are DYING of heat....or so I hear) "Why is she complaining about a cool summer?" Because if I don't get my summer, then I won't be ready for the Indiana winter. I'm pretty sure I need to get super miserable from the heat to not go crazy when I am freezing my butt off in the 30 degree weather!!! This week will be about 80' but it will still rain a couple of those days.....WHATEVER INDIANA!!!

Okay, onto other things.

We went to the fair a few days ago. It's about a mile from our house which is very CONVENIENT, & I do love convenience!!!! We spent too much money on over priced things, but it will make good memories right? Quinnlyn rode on a Dumbo ride (or something of the sort), it cost us 3 tickets (tickets were a dollar each). I am pretty sure the ride went around maybe 3 times & then it was done. I made the comment "WOW!!! That was a nice 3 dollar ONE MINUTE ride." The ride operator (I will call him RED-NECK...I'm pretty sure that's what ALL of there names were) said: "No, it was a minute & a half". Like that was much BETTER or something. Anyway, the girls enjoyed it & we like seeing them have a good time.

Brett's first 2 weeks of Second year were good. He was home at about 3:00 everyday. But, he has started PBL (problem based learning) this week, so I expect him to have full days from now on....at least until 5 or 6. He will have a test every month (I think) and we are told that this will be his hardest year of dental school.

My sister & her family have officially moved to Indiana. They got here about a week ago. Here I am only 1 1/2 hours away from family, & I still haven't seen them. But, they are going to drive up here tomorrow for the day. I am excited and so are the girls!!!

Quinnlyn is....herself. She can be so sweet and nice when she wants to be, but most of the time she is a PILL. It's funny (and by funny I mean....not so much), we get so many compliments on how well behaved she is & how sweet & quiet she is, but hearing that just makes us laugh. If they could secretly watch a 'DAY IN THE LIFE OF QUINNLYN', I think they would be SHOCKED! I guess the silver lining to this is at least she is OKAY in front of other people.
She is LOVING gymnastics. We tried to get some pictures, but they didn't really turn out too well. Her backbend (bridge) is amazing, she can do a somersault (front roll) on the beam, she can do straddle rolls (and those are super hard), she's getting pretty good at a handstand, & she is working on her cartwheels & back walk-overs. My favorite thing to watch her on is the bars. She is a tough girl & can even hold her legs up in a 'pike' (straight out in front of her) while she's hanging onto the bar. I can't even do that, & I'm not sure of a lot of people who can. She has also MASTERED the headstand, although that is just something she has been doing at home. Hopefully I can get some pictures soon.
Did I mention she got stung by a bee a few weeks ago. Well, she did. She likes to cup bugs (cup her hand over them to catch them) & one day she decided to cup a bee. I think it is Brett's fault. First of all, he is the one who taught her to play with bugs....secondly, he never warned her about bugs that could hurt her. Poor thing just came in the house SCREAMING & her little finger was swollen for a little while.

Avery is beginning to show her ornery side as well. But she is pretty funny still too, so she gets away with a little bit more than Quinnlyn does (unfortunately). Her newest thing is to hold her food in her mouth for a LONG LONG time. I think the other day she had a bite of sandwich in there for a 30 minutes....and by that time it had just turned to liquid. She is such a picky eater (Quinnlyn is too) & rarely finished any meal. It doesn't matter how long we make her sit at the table, she just pretty much refuses to eat. She'll say: "My belly hurts", but we quickly learned that she is LYING...because right after we let her down from the table, she is asking or a treat. Such a little sneak.
She is still sucking her thumb, & by now it is just a habit for her. Brett will go into her room while she is sleeping, & pull her thumb our of her mouth, & it automatically finds it's way back in there soon after. There isn't a whole lot we can do about it, and I am just glad she doesn't do it during the day.
I cut Avery's hair the other day. I have been meaning to take her into a salon, but finally decided that I could do it myself. It didn't quite turn into the A-line that I wanted it to be, but it's good enough. After a couple more tries, I might just be pro....but it will be at the expense of her having a funny-looking haircut for a bit :).
She is picking up on gymnastics as well....by watching Quinnlyn. She is always doing the balances that Quinnie does in class & she can do her front roll & tries to do a backbend & hand stand. I will probably put her in a class in a couple of months.

And that is the end of this post, since I can't think of anything else to write.

You are too cute!! I love reading your blog. You always make me laugh. Your girls are so cute!! I have to say I'm pretty jealous of your mild summer weather. I would LOVE to have my windows open during the day. :)

You had quite a bit to write about. Even though you may think its every day normal stuff, its still interesting for us to read. :) Brett told us about the bee sting. Poor Quinnlyn. Jerod's been stung twice and we TOLD him they would hurt him (over and over again) Your girls are so cute! Can they really be ornery? I don't see it. I need to get Haley in that gym class. Maybe I will find some time now that the baby is here. Take care and we'll see you soon!

Somehow I missed this post too! I can totally agree with the weather thing out here. July here was the coldest month EVER! Gotta love it. Living here is spoiling me from St.George. I don't know if I will be able to move back. =)
