Easton

Easton
Easton is the cutest little boy we know! He rightfully earned the nickname 'BEASTY' when he was a baby and it has stuck with him. He is such a sweet little mommy's boy and we are ALL at his Beck and call. Easton loves cars, snacks, and playing outside. He is talking up a storm and it seems like he learns something new every single day. He is at such a fun age. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy!

Ainslee

Ainslee
Ainslee is the baby and she just turned ONE!! This child is a handful!!! She hasn't quite grown out of the difficult phase.....that she has been in since she was born, but we still find ways to find her sweet side! Hearing her baby giggles and watching her discover & learn new things make all the whininess......just a little easier to deal with. Aaaahhh, we love this Ainslee Girl!!

Avery

Avery
Oh our cute little Avery! With her blue eyes & blonde hair, she is one of the cutest 4 year olds around!! This girl is stubborn! She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is quite unpredictable, which makes for a lot of laughs! Avery is our TREAT-FREAK! We can always guess what is on her mind. My favorite thing about Avery is her smiles. She always has one for us no matter what and that makes everyones day just a little better. She attends preschool and says she doesn't like it, but secretly we know she does ;). We are so lucky to have this cute girl in our family! We can't get enough of her.

Kobe Dylan

Kobe Dylan
Kobe is our first child, born in 2004. He was 4 months early and weighed a whopping 1 lb. 4 oz.! We got to be with Kobe for 4 wonderful weeks. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to raise one of God's perfect children. We love him and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is part of our family. We have a treasure in heaven.

Quinnlyn

Quinnlyn
Quinnie just turned 6! She is growing faster than we can keep up with! She loves going to first grade and is doing really well! She picks up on things very quickly and LOVES learning. She's seriously a sponge. Her favorite thing to do is write notes and draw pictures for her friends & family. You should see our continual stack of papers. Quinnlyn is creative & spunky & totally independant. We love her like crazy!

Hello September....

September is here & I'm not sure how I feel about that. The cooler weather is pretty much inevitable...which I don't really mind, but it's just going to get colder from here on out. September brings me anticipation for warm sweaters, Hot Chocolate, Halloween Decorations, and Family Holidays. Which is why I am sad. Because those Family Holidays aren't going to really be FAMILY HOLIDAYS the way I want them to be :(. Thanksgiving were good....we have friends coming (right friends?) But Christmas is really going to be difficult for me. We are obviously not going to make it home this year. I can't see the fun in spending a X-mas with only 4 people. It needs to be BIGGER than that!!! And it needs to be with our FAMILIES! It's hard for me to even think about. So let's just not anymore :(

Anyway, as for what we have been up to, I will have to say NOT A WHOLE LOT! Our car is fixed from our little fender bender. The great part about that is...remember when I backed into our green car with our new white car??? Of course you remember! Well that is fixed because it was on the bumper & the whole bumper had to be replaced. That's nice because now I don't have to look at the big old scraped up side & realize what a CRAZY woman I am :).

Here's a little more about what's going on:

BRETT
Wish I had something interesting to say. But I don't. Just school. Let's see if I can get this right. He made his first set of dentures a while ago. Says most people tell him to steer clear of doing dentures once he is in practice. So, sorry to all you oldies that were hoping for free dentures when your teeth fall out. He spent a small fortune on some LOUPES (which are glasses with microscopes on them) just because EVERYONE ELSE WAS GETTING THEM. Dang peer pressure. J/K they will actually come in handy....but of course he had to spend the extra money to get the sports frames that LOOK COOL...instead of the cheaper LESS COOL ones. His schedule isn't scaring me too much yet. On a bad day, he is home around 5:45. He did well on his first test & his second one will be coming up next week.

KIM
The only new with me is that I am no longer assisting with GYMNASTICS. The lady who was running it was struggling to run her other 2 locations along with the one I was helping at, so she had to cut back. I can't say that I am sad. For one thing, I was getting tired of having to be somewhere every Monday & Tuesday night. Just proves that I am not cut out to be a working mom (even the little work I was doing). I started dreading it the last few weeks & knew it was probably time to just give it up. But, the better reason that we are glad I don't work, is because Brett's later days at school were falling on Mondays & Tuesdays and he wasn't able to stay because he had to be home by 6 for me to go to work.

QUINNLYN
The only downside to me not working, is that Quinnlyn can't attend gymnastics anymore....unless we find somewhere cheap enough to send her to. She was getting so good. Although it wouldn't be hard just to work with her at home, but what's the fun in that? We'll see what happens. There is a huge gym about 10 minutes down the road, so I am going to look into that. Quinnie has a little friend that lives next door and they play together often. It's nice to just be able to send her outside & know that she will be busy for a good couple of hours! And, she even lets Avery tag along (how long do you thing that will last?)
She is taking after her dad, & LOVES to listen to music. I've never been a music lover (maybe cuz I like things quiet), so she certainly didn't pick it up from me. We get CD's from the library & she will have them memorized the next day. She's even telling us that she is going to ask for an I-POD for x-mas like daddy's. What four year old has an I-POD?
I had Quinnie on a list for preschool, but she didn't get in. I was a little bummed at first, but then relieved, because now I don't have to worry so much about the H1N1 Virus. I know she would have picked that up & brought it home to all of us! Now I just have to worry about Brett getting infected at the University. Sorry, but I am a total Germ-a-phobe. She may do the same preschool she did last year with just some girls in our ward, but we'll see.

AVERY
Since Quinnie takes after her music loving dad, it's only fitting that Avery pick something up from her mother....and she has. This girl can smell!!! She's always asking us: (SNIIIIIFFFFF) "WHAT DOES IT SMELL LIKE?". We went to pick up the car at the repair shop & right when we got out of the car she said: (SNIIIFFF) "IT SMELLS LIKE PAINT". She knows when something smells good, & she makes sure everyone around us knows when something STINKS! We think it's kind of funny.
We've gotten the mistake a few times in the past month that Quinnie & Avery are twins. How that can be, I don't know. Quinnlyn is a head taller than Avery. It must be their blonde hair & the same body shape they have. If Avery ever catches up to Quinnie's height, which she very well might in a few years, I'll just start pretending that YES, they are indeed twins!
I think I have successfully trained Avery for the way I want the mornings to go. I think she wakes up at about 8:00 A.M, but I have told her "stay in your bed until Mommy comes to get you". So she will wake up, open her door (to make sure I know she is ready to get up), grab a few books, & lay in her bed until I get her up at about 8:30. I love that my children are so 'TRAIN-ABLE'....except in the DISCIPLINE department....but at least I am getting my sleep :).
Avery picked something else up from me. You might notice, that although she has had her ears pierced since she was 3 months old, she rarely wears earrings. That's because her left ear is really sensitive & turns red & scabby (yuck I know) when it has an earring in it. The solution to this is the more expensive earrings....Which I know I should just buy, but I don't have any coupons for them....and I don't usually buy anything at full price. I've always had sensitive ears so I don't think she will out grow this one. Today I had to torture her a little & push an earring through each ear so that the holes won't close up. Still, this doesn't make me regret getting her (or Quinnlyn's) ears pierced so early....so none of this 'I told you so' junk :).

So that's whats been going on with us. I'm going to try & enjoy this weather before it gets too stinkin' cold. It is nice to be able to look forward to an actual FALL season. And today I was driving through downtown & thought: "I really love living in a big city". So I don't quite hate Indiana even if the weather is a bit different. Sorry I don't have pictures....I have been lazy.

What am I chopped liver? Am I not part of your family? Well fine, if you want to spend Christmas all by yourself with only four people you go ahead but I sure will miss you!

For some reason every time I go to your blog I get this malicious software warning from my internet security... weird. Anyways, I feel the same way about Christmas... it will be hard. I'm going to try to make some fun new traditions that will take my mind off of what my family is doing. That is if I'm not in the hospital delivering this baby...

I'm sorry you're feeling sad about Christmas with no family...but if it makes you feel any better last Christmas was really wasn't so bad with just the 4 of us. It was actually really fun to do our own little Christmas!
