My niece celebrated her birthday this past Saturday, so we drove down south to spend half the day. She wanted her own little cake, so I made her a mini one....that took me half the day....proving that it doesn't matter the size, cakes still take a long time to make. I was also not aware that the birthday girl doesn't even like cake...she just wanted her own cute cake to look at. Hopefully she was impressed by my decorating...and at least I just used a cake mix instead of doing it from scratch. I tried my hand at chocolate marshmallow fondant (mostly for the brown color) and it turned out pretty good.
My sister has a zip line at her house and Brett and the girls took a couple rides on it. I opted out...being in the pregnant state I am in, but it looks like fun and someday I will take a ride on it. I only got pictures of Avery, because Quinnlyn was playing with the cousins. Brett and her rode down it together, and then Brett would pull her all the way back up the hill. Avery would get mad if he didn't pull her fast enough.
It's nice to have family close by.
