Quinnlyn's turned 7 last month and we kept it simple this year. She woke up to breakfast by dad & presents. Later that afternoon, we all went ice skating downtown. Quinnlyn loves any kind of skating and got pretty good by the time our 2 hours was over (although she didn't venture too far from the side). Avery struggled to stay upright so Brett got the fun job of keeping her from falling. I got to chase Easton around the complex since neither of us were skating....it was a bit cold.
After skating, we hit up CiCi's Pizza and then went home for cake and ice cream. As per her request, I did my best to make a Barbie and a Mermaid Tale cake. It looked nothing like the movie, but I think it passed.
I think she had a fun day, and it's nice that she doesn't expect anything too extravagant.
Her gifts included (because 'mom of the year' only got a picture of her opening one):
-A Beach Cruiser bike
-A few outfits and sandals
-A CD player
-Lot's of Money from Grandparents & family
*The day before her birthday, I took treats to her classroom and we all ate lunch with her during lunchtime. She loves having us come to her school!
