Now that we have a little bit of an income, we can finally afford to put the kids in some recreational activities. Quinnlyn and Avery were non-stop gymnasts this past summer, so we put them in Gymnastics in September.
Both girls were pretty good, but after 2 months, Avery decided she was done. I think she got bored of all the waiting that was involved with it. I hesitated letting her quit, but decided not to force her into something she wasn't enjoying. Plus I felt like it was a huge waste of money if she didn't even WANT to be there. Hopefully as she gets a bit older, she will stick with something a little longer.
Quinnlyn, however, loves it. She definitely has a natural ability and I just love watching her. Her favorite areas are the Beam and of course, the bars. Right now she is in just a recreational class one hour a week, with no competing. They get evaluated at the end of each month and have to master several skills before moving up to the competing class. She has a lot of activities that she wants to try---like dance, swimming, basketball, piano---so who knows if she will choose to stick with gymnastics but for the minute, we are having fun watching her learn knew things.
I took some funny 'in-action' pictures of her jumping on the beam with Brett's phone....and they aren't the greatest quality....but oh well.
