Another Christmas with just our little family. We started the month of December with an advent full of fun activities to do each night. Some of them included: Making paper snowflakes, reading the Christmas story, making homemade hot chocolate, and more! The kids had fun anticipating the daily activities.
We welcomed a little elf friend into our home in December too! The kids named him Jingle. He was a pretty tame little elf and never made a big mess like all those naughty elves that we see in other people's homes ;). It was fun waking up each morning to see where Jingle decided to hang out each night!
A few days before Christmas we had a snow storm which caused our power to go out. We spent a full 24 hours without it and it was crazy to see how much we rely on electricity! Mom & Dad were sick which was the worst part of it because we were extra cold without any heat going, but we all managed to survive. Dad built a tent to trap the fireplace heat and that is where everyone slept minus Ainslee (who got the portable heater in her bedroom) and mom (who snuggled in her nice warm bed).
Christmas Eve was spent opening the traditional pajamas and playing games as a family. Then we spread out some reindeer food and jumped in bed!
Christmas morning began at about 7:30 am for us. The kids were super excited to see what Santa had brought them and they weren't disappointed! They all received everything they asked for and MORE! We even got a couple of Kindle Fire HD's to share between the family. Santa couldn't afford the iPads.....
