Yes, Santa Claus did find us. But let's start from the beginning....
We took the girls to visit Santa at the Indianapolis Children's Museum. The girls were very excited & practiced what they were going to say to him. Quinnlyn had no problem (although in one of the pictures she looks really scared), but Avery didn't want anything to do with him. Here is what they asked for:
Q-"I want an Ipod, a horse, a glitter ball, & a princess dress"
A-"I want a Puppy that walks, a train, a glitter ball, & a princess dress" (and eventually, she did talk to Santa about it).
After seeing Santa, we all got to slide down the 'Yuletide Slide'. Which is a slide from the 2nd floor of the museum to the first floor. It was quite exciting. Try to imagine a pregnant 'Me' sliding down that thing. I guess the hard part was just standing back up once it was over. Fun times.
So the past few weeks we have been using the "You'd better be good or Santa won't bring you the presents you asked for"...to no avail. It seems that Brett & I are BIG push-overs. But really, who would take away Christmas from their kids. Maybe next year we won't even try using that line. It's already proven useless.
For Christmas Eve we drove down to Charlestown, Indiana (just outside of Louisville, KY) to spend the day (or half the day since we were pretty late getting on the road) with my sisters family. All the cousins got to make Gingerbread houses, play on the zip-line, and run around like crazy kids. We had a yummy dinner & then opened some gifts. It was nice to be able to spend a little of our Christmas with family, and next time we'll try to make it a longer day. We drove home that evening to make it in bed before Santa Claus came to our house. We tried finding Rudolph's red nose flying through the air, but it must have been too early.
The cousins in their new Pj's
Christmas morning came a little too early for me....but Brett gets too excited to sleep in. We woke up at 7:00 and got the girls up to see if Santa had come. Quinnie & Avery loved all their presents and they got just what they had asked for plus a little more. Brett got a remote control airplane and an air gun & some other small gifts, and I got some clothes, shoes, pj's (I live for PJ's these days...I'm considering switching out my wardrobe for ALL pajama's & no clothes), and a nice new knife set. We had a great X-mas morning complete with breakfast made by Brett. Then we all hung out and played with our toys. It was a very laid back Christmas compared to what we are use to, but we managed to enjoy ourselves even though we missed everyone back home!
Coming down the stairs.
That night, Brett & I got to drive up to my hospital because of these stupid contractions I have so often. Once again, it was a waste of time...but I guess that is a good thing right? I assume I'll be having a lot more 'wasted trips' to labor & delivery before this baby comes.
Christmas was Merry & we hope yours was too!
