Easton

Easton
Easton is the cutest little boy we know! He rightfully earned the nickname 'BEASTY' when he was a baby and it has stuck with him. He is such a sweet little mommy's boy and we are ALL at his Beck and call. Easton loves cars, snacks, and playing outside. He is talking up a storm and it seems like he learns something new every single day. He is at such a fun age. We LOVE LOVE LOVE this little guy!

Ainslee

Ainslee
Ainslee is the baby and she just turned ONE!! This child is a handful!!! She hasn't quite grown out of the difficult phase.....that she has been in since she was born, but we still find ways to find her sweet side! Hearing her baby giggles and watching her discover & learn new things make all the whininess......just a little easier to deal with. Aaaahhh, we love this Ainslee Girl!!

Avery

Avery
Oh our cute little Avery! With her blue eyes & blonde hair, she is one of the cutest 4 year olds around!! This girl is stubborn! She definitely keeps us on our toes. She is quite unpredictable, which makes for a lot of laughs! Avery is our TREAT-FREAK! We can always guess what is on her mind. My favorite thing about Avery is her smiles. She always has one for us no matter what and that makes everyones day just a little better. She attends preschool and says she doesn't like it, but secretly we know she does ;). We are so lucky to have this cute girl in our family! We can't get enough of her.

Kobe Dylan

Kobe Dylan
Kobe is our first child, born in 2004. He was 4 months early and weighed a whopping 1 lb. 4 oz.! We got to be with Kobe for 4 wonderful weeks. I feel so blessed to have been chosen to raise one of God's perfect children. We love him and thank Heavenly Father everyday that he is part of our family. We have a treasure in heaven.

Quinnlyn

Quinnlyn
Quinnie just turned 6! She is growing faster than we can keep up with! She loves going to first grade and is doing really well! She picks up on things very quickly and LOVES learning. She's seriously a sponge. Her favorite thing to do is write notes and draw pictures for her friends & family. You should see our continual stack of papers. Quinnlyn is creative & spunky & totally independant. We love her like crazy!

Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet....

We've been hearing that phrase for a while now. The girls were bound to pick it up sometime right? We all do ;).

Halloween sneaked up on us this year. We had our ward Halloween party on the 13th of October and I threw together costumes the week before (finishing them the day of).

Our ward party was great. The family in charge of it really went all out with great decorations, several games with prizes, a costume contest/parade, chili cook-off dinner and of course the Trunk or Treat! It was lots of fun.

Now here is something interesting. Here in Des Moines, the kids go Trick or Treating on October 30th, the night before Halloween. I guess it was because back in the day, the city wanted to keep the kids from getting involved in all the pranks and such so they switched trick or treat night. The called it Beggar's Night and it has stuck. So weird, but I guess it's all the same to the kids. We went out at 6:00 and it was chilly, but not freezing. By the time we got down the street, Avery was begging to be done and it was getting colder. We made it down a few more streets and the kids were ready to be done. I think that next year we will do a quick candy run and then come home to hand it out. The kids enjoyed that as much as going door to door.

Easton was fun to watch as he went door to door. First, he had a hard time seeing because of his mask. Second, he was freaked out by the scary masked kids he saw, and third, he would walk away from each house yelling "SANKS!!" What a fun age.

Ainslee didn't love Trick or Treating. Her face was cold and it was nearing her bed time. Maybe next year will be better.

So on to the costumes:

Quinnlyn was Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz, Avery a black cat, Easton was Superman, and Ainslee a ghost (slash bear when we went outside).

We also had fun decorating Pumpkins this year. Grandma & Grandpa Jones brought out pumpkins from their garden during their annual October visit (They drive to us & then to Florida to visit Brett's sisters family EVERY October). Instead of carving them, we bought Mr. Potato head kits and it was the best idea ever. So much easier, quicker, and cleaner. I do need to get some pumpkin seeds though so I am going to have to cut into one or two.

Happy Halloween!!
